I’ve been using Mozilla Firefox, extremely comfortably ever since they release their 0.8 back then - yeah, way before their official release. One good thing about it, programmatically, is the fact that it only comes bare - and you can choose what kind of ‘extensions‘ you want to add on to extend the functionality of the browser.

Among the list of hundreds of extensions out there, I’ve come to be accustomed with a few, that greatly improves my browsing experience (and productivity):

1. Tabbrowser Extensions
This is THE extension if you asked me. Firefox’s built-in tabs are useful, but this extension is phenomenon. You should give it a try! (see the screenshot below if you want to know why I love this extension so much. It’s a screenshot of my typical daily browsing)

So, with THAT much tabs opened at once most of the time, I will need some kind of “label” to show which tab opened from which tab (hence, treated as a group). As you can see all the color-colded labels signifies that the tabls belong to one group, because theyre opened from one page - which makes it a lot less confusing when switching tabs!

2. IE View
Let me get this straight - I’m not against Internet Explorer at all, just that I hate the fact that their current CSS engine is broken, thus rendering your CSS-driven websites totally weird at times. There’s workarounds to this, however, but it’s a matter of whether one know or not. So anyways, some sites completely favors Internet Explorer because they make use of what only Internet Explorer can provide. Some are so badly scripted that it only works in Internet Explorer!

I hate it everytime I have to open another program, copy and paste the URL from one another. So after a lot of searching around, I’ve come across this one plugin that is making my life a lot better.

So that does this one do? Simple. It adds 2 things, yeah 2 small things that will make your life a lot easier. First, it adds a new right-click option to the page :

IE View Right Click

Next, it adds another option in your ‘Tools‘ menu to set your current page to always ‘be viewed in IE’. So the next time you open the page in your Firefox, it will automagically launch IE and open that page in it. Neat eh?

Makes my browser testing on designed sites easier as well.

3. All-In-One Sidebar
This is the only other extensions I have installed (yes, I don’t use alot of extensions, but I have those that I need). I stumbled across this extensions by accident while browsing the web on my bebe’s PC. I was wondering why her extensions, downloads and themes page appear on a sidebar, rather than on its own small window. So a quick glance over the list of extensions she have revealed it.

After installing it on my own FF, I instantly falls in love with it. As you can see on my FF screenshot above, it is showing my list of extensions. Below, you can see what window you can choose to view in this sidebar:

All In One Sidebar

(Don’t mind that Google Safe Browsing extension in the screenshot, I just got it installed today and still am testing it)

So these are the three favorite Firefox Extentions of mine, for all time (so far). You can get these installed on the following links:

  1. Tabbrowser Extensions
  2. IE View
  3. All-In-One Sidebar

Hope this will improve your browsing experiences. If you have any extensions that greatly improve yours, do let me know!
