Truly, throughout my blogging experience, I've never written any sort of [tag]Meme[/tag], ever. After reading a few recent Memes from Fazri and Syefri (and also powered by the ultimate force of doom - boredom), I've decided to write my first one. This is taken from B.I.O, and should you guys are interested to write yours too, you can find more information on this post.
Here goes:
Your first experience in blogging:
When and How was your first experience?
End of 2002. I used to own another domain name, installed b2 cafelog (predecessor to the Wordpress and b2evolution), and talked about basically my everyday doings. I blogged about once every two weeks only though. I didn't like blogger back then, and still didn't like it now.
What inspired you to start blogging?
To try something new. Back then, I couldn't think of a way to fully utilize the domain (that I happened to purchase on impulse). I don't want to run just-another-forum kind of website, and running a normal site would means I have to create my own content, which I don't really inspired to do so. It would be a waste to just create my portfolio, because back then I didn't have many freelance jobs. So I decided that I would blog.
Are there any specific purposes to blog?
Back then, nope. Now, one of my treasure. To others it seemed like I'm just bitching and talking nonesense, and occasionally posting something that might have any use to others. To me, it's the place where I get second view of everything. I post my thoughts and people give me their views, which helps neutralizing my bias thoughts (if any) in a way, that is. Also a place where I put down certain guides that I would indeed find it useful for myself in later date. Hopefully they are as useful to others though.
Difficulties faced when blogging :
Are you able to express yourself fully without consequences?
Usually I'm able to, although most of the time I would keep rephrasing my sentences so it wouldn't sound so harsh to any other affected parties.
What are your concerns when you blog?
Whether it would make me feel better after clicking the "Publish" button
How has blogging influenced your life?
Is it a top priority in your list? Or have nothing changed at all?
Nope. It's a place I usually go when I think I couldn't talk or openly confess to anybody, then I would blog. On other times, I'll blog when I feel like it. Certainly, alot of things have changed - my perspective, my thoughts, my opinions have evolved ever since I started blogging.
How does people around you (friends and family) react to your blog?
So far I've never gotten any weird or unwanted reactions from people. Most of the time I'll get cute remarks via IMs and some laughs from my silly posts. A few thanked me on some simple guides I wrote.
What do you think of the Malaysian blogging community?
Do you know any bloggers other than the people close to you, i.e. family, friends, colleagues etc?
Of course, I love blog-hopping. Often, I made a few friends on the way. Because on certain corners of the world, the people who have similar view as you do exist. It is very enlightening to hear opinions from people who are not in the same culture and region. Opens up my mind.
Are you part of any blogging groups/community such as Project Petaling Street?
Like most people, all I often do is ping ping ping. I'm a passive member so far.
If your answer is yes, what are the pros and cons of joining such a community?
You know alot more people that you don't, and they know you too. Might not be so handy when you have certain kind of views. But what's the point of giving out views when nobody reads them instead, right? It's a sweet and sour relationship.
