Lonely Struggle

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Everybody is struggling.

Often they are alone in the struggle, even when they don’t realize it. Nobody gives shit about what others are struggling about. Most of the time they will make fun, bitch, and give unecessary comments about what one is living for.

I prefer to struggle quietly like this, only accompanied with the one who I can only trust and believe in - without disturbing her own struggle of course.

Stop Distributing My Numbers!

Monday, September 11th, 2006

I’ve had it.

More and more phone calls from various Banks, Insurance Companies and such.

Those who knows my number, please stop giving it away to these promoters without my consent. I’m getting annoyed with this calls. Some of them have been calling me for good three weeks!

I did asked them where did they obtain my number, and all I get are something like follows:

  • I got from one of your friends, but I forgot who
  • We have measures to get contacts
  • Chairman of Telekom is our friend (probably bullshitting) [My favorite]
  • Got lah
  • Your boss give wan (I asked, and he repeatedly said he didn’t. Heck he didn’t even have that bank’s cards)

Come on promoters. I know its your job, but please be considerate. I said no, it means no. If I want/need it, I would’ve walked to the bank myself! Don’t have to call me repeatedly and make me sign up. I don’t care if I will have free stay in Genting for two after I swiped RM8,000 worth on my card!

Cyberia Vampires, and Zombies

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

For those who don’t know, Cyberia Condominium is located in Cyberjaya, next to the Multimedia University (MMU). Most of the time, people who study in MMU, Lim Kok Wing University College of Technology (LUCT) and those that are working in various Local and MNC companies around Cyberjaya will be staying in this condo. Actually, its more of an apartment than a condominium though.

On a bright day, often in the morning, Cyberia is pretty much peaceful, more so if its raining at that time. People are walking around, going to and back from classes. At night, however, its a completely different story. Let’s start by the unexplainable phenomenon. Take a look at the picture below:

Cyberia PeacefulLooks like a very peaceful night, right? Absolutely not. Every single minute is filled with screams, yells, loud laughter, and cross-block “conversation”. Some even called the other end with a mobile phone and face each other across blocks while STILL talking loudly. The sounds got worse if its Saturday night of course. They often don’t stop till dawn. There’s one particular occurrence where a bunch of girls screams (of excitement) non stop from noon till midnight. I wonder what kind of fun are they having, seriously. Would want to join too!

So-called ‘Smarthomes‘ (yes, it is advertised as ‘Cyberia Smarthomes’), most of the units are fitted with a security system that is linked to an intercom and plethora of sensors to detect unwanted entry or exits. More often than not, these sensors will hit a false alarm out of nowhere - even when there’s nothing passing through! Imagine this - you just wake up, it was a beautiful sunday, the sun is rising very beautifully, and then all of a sudden, there’s 3 to 4 alarms triggered as if they are alarm clocks!. God dammit, there goes my morning!

The people are no better. Most of the time, if you’re driving out of the compound, especially when the 429 bus just finished dispatching the passengers out, you’ll see that Cyberians regard themselves as “invincible“, “immortal” and “owning the road“. They will normally flock around the roundabout area, ignoring all passing vehicles (who in turn, have to STOP FOR THEM instead), and even with the vehicle waiting for them to cross, they will take their sweet time to cross the roundabout as if it belong to each and everyone of their grandmothers.

Not only pedestrians, drivers are weird too. Once I’ve caught into a stall while going out of Cyberia simply because a car stopped in the middle of the narrow road to chat with his friend on a motorbike. WTF? They don’t give a damn until you honk at them several times.

New Place

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Yes people, as crazy as it sounds like, I decided to move to Cyberjaya.

People said that I’m crazy (and stupid maybe), moving to a much further place than the one I have now (right now, I live about 5 minutes away from the office). But I make this decision after giving a long thought. Tackling the idea at every single pros and cons it would bring. At the end of the day, I’ve decided that it would be the best idea for me.

Most of the time the concern would be finance. However, I figured that the amount I will be spending will be the same at the end of the month, due to some unexpected happenings. It’s rather complicated to explain here. So let me keep it to myself. For now.

What I like the most tho, is the pro’s that I will be getting:

  • High Rise floor - no mosquitoes, less noisy sounds
  • No kids at home - my previous room is owned by a family who stays there as well. Their kids are so freaking annoying. Especially when I worked at night shifts, as the kids run around the house and scream non-stop
  • I feel comfortable. Yes. I used to feel very uncomfortable living at the previous place. I don’t like the toilet too much, the living room is occupied with people that I can’t speak to most of the time (language barrier). And only the landlord can speak a little bit with me. He only invites to dinner, of which I always decline because I don’t know what they are eating.
  • I feel comfortable. Round 2. I don’t feel like I owe anybody unexpectedly. I don’t get the feeling of guilt. Not as much anyways.
  • I don’t get unwanted remarks, as a sign of showing the person have exceedingly high amount knowledge over the matter being remarked about. Even though sometime it can be so duh and I’m doing something abnormal because of a reason
  • I hope I can finally mind our own business. (No typo there. It’s ‘our’ for a reason)
  • The need to keep certain people quiet too, I might add

Gotta get some rest now. Later!

Kembalilah Ke Jalan Yang Benar

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

The title literally means “get back to the right road”. Often used by religous speakers to advice that we go back to the path of the heavens. However, let’s use it for some drivers in the toll gate for today.

I got this almost every morning. Once, there’s an accident right in front of the two Touch and Go toll lanes. Completely blocking both lanes and effectively stalling us Touch and Go users for good 30 minutes, as the two drivers wants to settle the issue right on the spot.

Today, apparently there’s yet another idiot who wants to use the cash lane, but queued up at the Smart Tag lane right until the last minute. Effectively blocks the various lanes one by one by at least five to ten minutes each.

Idiot in LDP #1
Idiot in LDP #2
Idiot in LDP #3

Sigh.
