Often throughout our lives, we’ll be leading our one and only path alone, and most of the time, that path is not what we have chosen. We usually have no choice other than to take that path.
At least, it’s better than not moving at all :)
Recently, on my way back to JB, I’ve got this one phone call:
Him : Hello Mr. Firdouss, I’m Shereen from Some Gold Card Thingie Membership
Me : Huh? I don’t remember applying for Some Gold Card Thingie Membership
Him : Don’t worry sir, this membership is only entitled to any Visa credit card holder
Me : Well, I still didn’t applied for such membership
Him : Anyways sir, we’re gonna need a confirmation from you, could I know which bank is your credit card is from and the number please?
Me : Look, I don’t need such membership and I don’t want it anyways, and I don’t even apply for it!
Him : Well, if you confirm the membership, we’ll charge you only one-time Rm5xx, but otherwise you’ll be charged Rm4xx annually
Me : Hey, I don’t want such membership, as I said I did not apply for any Some Gold Card Thingie Membership!
Him : Like i said sir, we’ll charge you only one-time Rm5xx, but otherwise you’ll be charged Rm4xx annually *hangs up*
WTF? Anyone had this before? I’m eagerly waiting for my statement to see what’s gonna happen. I seriously find their stuff weird. I know they can buy off information directly from banks. I’m soo terminating this card right after I settled it soon!

Yesterday, on my way back, I stopped by the mail boxes and dig into my mailbox to see if there's anything in it. There's two mails - one is the overdue Streamyx bill of the previous tenant of this unit, and another, a very thick envelop, stamped from London (!). Addressed to me. I was curious.

In the era of gadget-everything (I’m referring to all sort of portable devices - mobile phones, digital cameras, notebooks, portable music player, portable this, portable that, etc), it is inevitable that every single thing relies on some sort of portable power - Batteries.
While they are all called batteries, there are plenty of types out there, from the typical “use-once-and-throw” alkaline batteries up to the heavy-duty lead-acid batteries uses in cars. Some devices uses common type of batteries (like AA batteries, for example) while some can only use their own specialized type. There’s one thing about these ’specialized’ batteries - they cost a bomb! On the good note, these batteries often are rechargeable. Phew.
Remember one thing though, rechargeable batteries have lifespan too. They will die eventually. However, there’s something we can do to prolong the batteries life. I’m not talking about increasing talk-time or amount of shots you can make on a camera - if you need this, either conserve the power or get a more powerful battery. I’m going to talk about on how to care for your batteries so it can service for an extended time.
