Pizza Hut, special delivery!… NOT!

Note: This post is a little back-dated. It was in my draft for a while and I didn't have time to finish it then.

On Oct 27th (that is around a few days after Raya or Eid ul-Fitr), me and Shiro planned to meet one of our 'colleague' (the quote marks because we consider him as a colleague, but we never met him, as we're sort of his colleague in some online community). After a thorough thought (yeah, you know how hard it is to decide where to eat sometimes) we decided to make it easy - meet at the Pizza Hut @ Suria KLCC.

I arrived first, and since I don't want us to wait further for the food later on, I decided I should start ordering right away, so we can immediately munch when everyone arrives.

Normally, once you near any Pizza Hut outlet, someone will greet you and offers you a seating place right? Well at least it have been like this at many of their outlet that I've been to. During the time I arrived, nobody was at the reception, thinking that they are busy, I waited. After around 10 minutes, still there's no one greeting me. Thinking that they must've been busy somehow, I decided to take my seat. Only about 4-5 steps away from the entrance though.

Another round of waiting. I waited and looked at various staffs for good 10 more minutes before I decided to raise my hand to call any one of them so I can place my order. Saw one male staff, in gray uniform (from what I understand, gray-uniformed staffs are supervisors) so I waved at him, signifying that I need to place orders. He looked at me and went to the kitchen. Fine I guess, since I noticed he is carrying a bunch of used plated. Thinking that he'll attend me after he's done dispatching the plates at the kitchen, I waited.

He didn't come. I saw him around serving people and taking orders elsewhere but me. Even the white couple that come shortly after me is being served. But not me. Sigh.

So I waived at another female supervisor, and she attended me, placed my orders and she went off.

Food arrived, followed by my friends. We ate and chat as usual. After a while, we decided that we want seconds (yeah, bunch of big-eating hungry people we're talking about). We waved and then placed our order - one more regular pizza and a milk shake. The milk shake arrived first of course, we then resume our chat and after a long while, we decided to call it a day and head to one of our places - that's when we realize that our pizza never showed up.

Being hesitant to wait further, we went to the counter and I pointed up the issue. The ladies at the counter are happily chatting while we arrive. Anyways, one of them got nervous and started to ask if there's something wrong with the ordering system on the computers. I told them we do not want to wait any longer, so she agreed to deduct the pizza price from the bill. However, she then mentioned that some sort of 'key card' (the one they have to swipe on the terminals before they can key in sales) is not available, because it is with one of their staff that went out for a while (talk about being responsible). So she minus the pizza price from the grand total, which means we have to pay a hefty 15% more for the service charge and govt. tax for the item that we did not get. We didn't claim it because we do not want to make this a big issue (well, not on the spot at least).

We went back home, and of course, e-mailed the Pizza Hut main customer service about this experience. On the good note, the manager of the branch itself called me up asking for clarification. Unfortunately I failed to catch any of their names, but I managed to describe their outlook to him. From what I understand, he's going to issue some warning letters to the supervisor. I'm glad the manager is a friendly person and don't overly trying to protect the staff. Some managers do think that all errors are the direct result of the customer's idiocy and stupidity, and their staff are sent by the heavens and thus, fault-free.

We're really disappointed with what have happened - I personally don't feel like going to this branch (KLCC) anymore. After all, they serves expatriates at a higher priority than us anyways - and they can't even get a regular pizza order right. Sigh. I'll stick to my favorite TTDI branch.

For the life of me, I can't remember where the heck the Pizza Hut in KLCC is. I remember that for the longest time, they didn't have a McDs.

Fird: It is only opened recently, like three months or so (maybe more). If you come to KLCC via the LRT entrance, then it is at the opposite end (yes near the end)

Fird: It's probably a remote incident. But it is enough to deter me from going there again.
