Buddha’s Delight

If you’ve watched Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore’s “Music and Lyrics” earlier this year, you would understand where does the song titled “Buddha’s Delight” came from.
This song is performed by Haley Bennett, who play an obsessed-with-Buddha-and-Hindu (probably due to the lack of research on the story writer’s part, or they’re just trying to be funny) pop singer “Cora Corman”. In one scene of the movie, she is performing live on stage, and it begins with her coming out of the Buddha statue, singing:
Buddha’s Delight
Haley BennettI’m starting to believe boy, that this is meant to be boy
Cuz I believe in karma, boy do you believe in karma?
So forget about your past life, cuz this could be our last life
We’re gonna reach nirvana, boy we’re gonna reach nirvanaEach time you put your lips to mine, its like a taste of Buddha’s delight
I see the gates of paradise, you’re a taste of Buddha’s delight
Tell me all your fantasies tonight, and I will make them happen
Cuz I’m not satisfied if I don’t get my Buddha’s delightOh shanti shanti
Oh shanti shantiLike sutta meditation, you give me elevation
Can you take me higher? Wonder can you take me higher?I want a revelation, and sweet salvation
And the eternal fire, show me the eternal fireEach time you put your lips to mine, its like a taste of Buddha’s delight
I see the gates of paradise, you’re a taste of Buddha’s delight
Tell me all your fantasies tonight, and I will make them happen
Cuz I’m not satisfied if I don’t get my Buddha’s delightOh shanti shanti
Oh shanti shantiI’ve got to have my Buddha’s delight (oh shanti shanti)
I’ve got to have my Buddha’s delight (oh shanti shanti)Each time you put your lips to mine, its like a taste of Buddha’s delight
I see the gates of paradise, you’re a taste of Buddha’s delight
Tell me all your fantasies tonight, and I will make them happen
Cuz I’m not satisfied if I don’t get my Buddha’s delight
