Microsoft Surface - Minority Report in Reality (Finally?)

Microsoft Surface I’m pretty sure this is not the first worldwide announcement of similar technology - some PDA manufacturers have had multi-touch screens for years (although very hard to use), and the pretty recently announced Apple iPhone sports improvement over the multi-touch displays that awes the geeks and made Steve Jobs goes “awww”.

Looks like our Redmond-based company have come up with their own version. This time, it’s a computer. Forget mouse and keyboard, I present you - Microsoft Surface. A video and brief information after the jump.

Most of us have watched Minority Report, and I’m pretty sure the inner geek in many of us wishing for such computing technology. Well it looks like they’ve catch up and now we will soon have such thing - minus the bizarre and tiring hand movement and the device you have to wear to operate it. Now all you need is to sit on the desk, and start doing stuff with only your fingers!

Want to see it in action? Watch the video!

Thanks to PopularMechanics

Note: I personally love the idea that you can put your coffee cup, mobile phone on the table (it is basically a coffee table!). My favorite part of the video is where they show the idea of sending photos to your mobile device!

Multi-touch, that reminds me of a Macbook’s touchpad. About time it’s being applied in touch screen device.
