The Hunt for a Thirty-Two

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Pardon me if the topic sounds kind of cheesy, but yeah to make it simple, I’m now looking into various make and models of 32″ LCD TVs.

Why 32″? Well for one thing, it’s the cost factor. 40″ and above is a bit to dear for me. Even this 32″ should be stretching my limit for the time being, but after almost an hour of calculating budgets, I figured out that I can spend on this baby. Secondly, my current living room isn’t anywhere near 10 feet in length to allow proper viewing of anything above 36″. And 36″ is so rare that I don’t want to bother looking for obscure models.

So yeah, 32″ for me. The savings obtained by refraining from the 40″ models are to be used for the Home Theatre system. But lets keep that for another time. I have my eyes on a few units (seen some of them, still finding stores that have some on display). (more…)

The Shift from Mad Online RPG to TV Couchness

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I’ve been doing this almost thrice in my life so far, but never as drastic as this one.

The first one caught me in a very expensive price - at the cost of my University grade. That was back in 2003, while I am already failing exams over and over (and yeah, reinstated like twice). MMORPG in Malaysia at that point have not yet reached it’s peak. I was playing Priston Tale (now that I look at it, I have no idea why I got hooked at it. It only have ONE quest ever in the game, and it’s all about grinding. You can call it MMOGG a.k.a Massively Multi-player Online Grinding Game). I got hooked on it for almost a year, when it finally dawned on me that the game is absolutely pointless to play anymore.

Deluge BitTorrent Client

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

I get to know about this Bittorrent Client from a few friends - but as usual I don’t really check it out because I was pretty comfortable with my uTorrent.

I’m fiddling with Ubuntu 7.10 “Gutsy Gibbon” at the moment, and I’ve decided to give Deluge a try. To my surprise, this client works pretty well, looks good and don’t have excessive features that I don’t need. Deluge comes with certain amount of plugins which you can enable/disable at your discretion (kind of like Pidgin/Gaim).

If you’re from Malaysia, you know how our ISP is throttling our P2P bandwidth. But my oh my look at my Deluge (without tweaks):

Happy Hari Raya!

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my friends and relatives a very happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Please excuse my blatant remarks and egoistic behaviors once a while!

I will be on my way back to my hometown tonight, at 11.00pm. I’ll be back by the 17th :)
