Pardon me if the topic sounds kind of cheesy, but yeah to make it simple, I’m now looking into various make and models of 32″ LCD TVs.

Why 32″? Well for one thing, it’s the cost factor. 40″ and above is a bit to dear for me. Even this 32″ should be stretching my limit for the time being, but after almost an hour of calculating budgets, I figured out that I can spend on this baby. Secondly, my current living room isn’t anywhere near 10 feet in length to allow proper viewing of anything above 36″. And 36″ is so rare that I don’t want to bother looking for obscure models.

So yeah, 32″ for me. The savings obtained by refraining from the 40″ models are to be used for the Home Theatre system. But lets keep that for another time. I have my eyes on a few units (seen some of them, still finding stores that have some on display).

First, the LG 32LC2R

LG 32LC2R

Can’t say much about this unit until I get to play with it a bit more. But from the DVD source displayed on screen, it looked pretty good to me. What’s plus is that it have a built-in HD decoder in case the itch comes at later date. RGB input is a must for me as I will be plugging in PC/Notebook into it for some non-DivX anime marathons :D. I’m quite a big fan of old-fashioned square, matt black look, so it is one of the factors that attracts me too. The only turn off is the actual contrast, which is a bit on the low end. But it won’t matter much as I normally watch TV in a dim room anyway!

Next, I got my eyes on LG 32LB1R

Most of the specs are pretty similar to the model above, except it is supposedly equipped with better image processor (2006 XD Engine), more powerful built-in speakers (which won’t matter much to me). But what attracts me to this model is that the aesthetics. It looks much more sleek than the elder sibling. Might be considering this one if the price is right. I couldn’t find any display model for this one yet. Anyone know where can I find one?

Moving onto the next rack, it is Samsung LN-T3232H

Samsung LN-T3232H

This unit have every single feature I’m looking for! Side AV input (for console/digicam/dvcam easy access), PC connectivity, pretty robust PIP function and a very nice display. It claims to be able to produce 92% of the color gamut - I have yet to see this. The only part I’m not a big fan of is the shiny black finish. Sure, it looks slick, but it’ll be laden with prints and dust :(

To my surprise, the Sony Bravia is priced pretty cheap compared to their Samsung and LG counterparts (as much as RM500 less!). I’m wondering what’s up with the pricing. Anyone know anything about Sony and why are they cheap?

If any of you guys are familiar with LCD TVs, please shine me some light T.T
