Sumolah Trailer (Assignment)
This is an assignment that Bebe has made for one of her post-production class. The assignment is to create a movie trailer from any local movies. She picked ‘Sumolah’. What do you guys think?
Songs used:
- Theme of Juno (from Ragnarok Online OST)
- I miss you (from Ragnarok Online OST)
Note: Pardon for the video quality. The only source that we found is from a VCD rip, so it is kind of shitty :( Might want to remake for fun if we can get our hands on a DVD source!

the trailer is just OK..perhaps its OK enuf for a beginner like your girlfriend…
but seriusly, i’m not interesting at all to watch “Sumolah” after watch the trailer..

It’s hard if the trailer is good, coz later the Creative Multimedia students will get mad (because my GF is a Management student :p)

Nah, that’s just a general saying. Part of her course is some creative subjects :)

Because the movie is one of the favorites :). Yeah submitted. we did fix some of the mis-sync parts, the one uploaded into Youtube is the older one.

Hahah! I don;t know about that man. But anyway, we liked the storyline and the content. It’s not the typical “Cerita Melayu Poyo” that have been produced before (all those lovey lovey ones).

The first few seconds of the scenes were great and I could have swear that the yukata girl was actually Bebe; until I saw Afdlin, I knew then, that it wasn’t a reenactment - only multiple scenes cropped and stitched together. I was kinda disappointed but after reading the part where she wasn’t a CM major(I swear she told me she was one, lol), I can only imagine the predicament she(or any Management student) would have be in if it were. :P
Anyway, I believe some of the scene could have been used to build up the suspense - like the part where Afdlin fell over and over again. That one is good, I’d used it to start up a momentum and/or groom it for a cliffhanger towards the end. Since this movie is based on Sumo, a little more of them in action wouldn’t hurt.
This trailer, coming from a non-CM major, shows that the tech nowadays is getting easier to use even if you’re not an expert from that particular field, you still can come out with something good if not impressive.
