Vote for yer spaceman

Monday, September 19th, 2005

We all know Malaysians are self-proclaimed “Semakin Bijak Menilai” via the all-popular ‘Talent aka Reality Shows” that relies majority of it’s decision on user’s votes.

However, I think the Malaysian Government have gone a bit too far on this one:

Pimp your MySpace (part 1)

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2005

Many people knows what is Friendster (and if you don’t, welcome to the internet!). So anyways, everybody that knows what a friendster is, will probably know that there’s actually more of these kind of sites, of where you make your profiles, add up your friends into your list and have them post comments on you and your photos. Recently they have evolved into a more ‘personal’ space, which includes blog systems and such.

Anyways, what I’m going to talk about today is about another community site called MySpace. Ever since I started working in this CyberCafe, i’ve noticed that there’s quite an alarming amount of kids (teenagers, mainly) that comes to the CyberCafe, and spend hours and hours, just by logging into their myspace account and “play” (thats what they call it anyways). So out of curiousity, I’ve come across some of their site, and whoa, I have been revealed, a god-sent tips on how to ‘decorate’ your own myspace page. Read on!

2 Biggest Failures!

Wednesday, August 17th, 2005

I got this funny fact from Wilz at EarthWatcher.org. Apparenly, Google ranks the top 2 ‘failures’ as these:

Talk about ironic!

Chise is Back!

Tuesday, August 16th, 2005

My long anticipated Saihuu-Heiki Kanojo OVA “Another Love Song” (also known as ‘Saikano’, the title literally means ‘Ultimate Weapon Girlfriend‘ but since that’s sooo lame, they change it to ‘She : The Ultimate Weapon‘) episode 1 was fansubbed (by Shinsen-subs - thanks a lot guys! your fansubs are great!) and released few days ago, and after a long battle with my BT problems, I manage to download it safe and soundly onto my primary hard disk (My secondary hard disk, along with all my unburned animes, is now officially dead, thanks to Tenaga Nasional’s efficency in managing their power distribution).

So anyways, i watched the episode in awe, even though there isn’t any sheer actions, but the fact that there’s a lot more about the story than just the poor Shuu-chan with his girlfriend Chise, who is technically not human, but a growing weapon. For those who haven’t watch the original series, I would strongly suggest you to watch it first before watching this one, as the stories are related. Otherwise, you won’t understand a thing.

Anyways, here’s some eye candy :D :

Oxygen at 20sen/kg?

Sunday, August 14th, 2005

No offense, but I find the following quite absurd:

Malaysia Gugat Kabut Asap, Tapi Harus Bayar Oksigen Indonesia

For English readers, I’m sorry for it being in the Indonesian laguage. I’ll see if I can find translations

Tell me what do you think about it.

ps: The title of this post isn’t an ‘actual’ oxygen value, it’s just something I made up, sarcastically.

How Does it like to be working in Pixar?

Saturday, March 19th, 2005

I came across this one site called AintItCoolNews.com, particularly a section where a journalist talks about his visit to the Pixar Animation Studios office to see how is it like to work with them. Read more about his visit and found out how interesting is would be.

To me, it’s way way way cool, not because it’s Pixar, but because how they treat their employees :p

What do people actually write on their blog?

Thursday, March 17th, 2005

Blog - originated from the term ‘Web Log’, is supposed to be some sort of online ‘diary’ - thoughts, news , information posted in chronological order. But what is to be posted depends on what kind of weblog is it. For example, a software development weblog might post news about what is being done by the developers and such.

However, once we take a look at personal weblogs, it can be about almost anything. Most of them are about their lives, and anything they find interesting. Some treated weblogs like a place to post updates about themselves as well as a place to channel their thoughts for the world to see (as well as sometimes complaining or whining about something that they’re not happy with). One such blog (a very famous one at that) is XiaXue’s WebLog. Almost all the blogs listed in my Links section (on the sidebar) belongs to this category.

Some people post abstract things, that probably only they can understand it themselves. Nonetheless, it is interesting to read these kind of blogs. One such blog is Dry Saliva. Have a look :)

So what kind of weblogs that I like? Well, I prefer interesting and educating weblogs. I often frequent to graphic/design personal weblogs just to see what theyre doing. They are both inspiring and interesting to read - two of my favorite are Verlee’s Blog and Hicksdesign (now some of you know where i got the idea to make my Badgiruel.BounceMe.Net template :p).

As for my own blog, I just post anything I feel like - sometimes I’ll give out some simple guides, sometimes I whine mildly. What do you guys think a weblog should be?
