Fluid Optics

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

If any of you have noticed, I’ve changed my layout again - yeah after quite a while.

This time though, I’ve decided that I’ll try on the fluid, non-width constrained style. I want to improve on my CSS knowledge, so this layout will be quite an experiment for me. If you spot any visual error (or any that you think could be it - especially if you’re a non-Firefox user), kindly let me know (email, or im, or comment here - anything).

I’m still flying btw :D (and I still hates IE’s broken CSS model)

Small Improvements

Thursday, September 29th, 2005

Just a slight update on the site (minor tweaks, mainly)

  • Updated the stylesheet - Silly Ol’ Me didn’t define ‘visited link’ colors properly. Driving visitors nuts if they want to track down which link they have and have not visited. Sorry guys! m(_ _)m
  • Changed the sidebar font size, so that it doesn’t fix the size (especially in IE). So if there’s somehow anyone over 40 years of age visits my site, and he wants to zoom in the text, it will follow accordingly
  • FINALLY found a solution on the TimeZone offset issue. The solution have been there for ages, and again, Silly Ol’ Me didn’t bother checking it out. For blogsome users who’s driven nuts over this, read the solution here at the forum.
  • Addes ‘next page’ and ‘previous page’ links at the bottom of the page to allow users to browse through previous contents
  • I still don’t like tagboards, but I have activated the ‘Recent Comments’ plugin to show recent comments made on the sidebar. For blogsome users, activate the plugin in your ‘Plugin’ control panel, and follow these instructions on how to put them into your templates

I Think that’s about all for this update. Oh and I’m working on a new layout as of now :D I’ll put them in the code once I’m done with my current project.

Issues on Comments system

Tuesday, August 16th, 2005

Just to let you guys know, even though this time I didn’t force account registration for comment posting, your email addresses are still validated for posting.

How does it work?

If this is your first time posting, your comments will get moderated, and once I approved the comment, your subsequent posts (using the same email address) will be automatically approved. The email address will not appear anywhere on my blog, so rest assured that your email won’t be sniffed by spiders and get spammed. It is just for administration use.

Another thing, if you posted a URL (web site address) in the comment (other than the designated URI field), the comment, too, will get moderated, as I don’t want spam bots to spam my comments just to bump their site’s PageRank™ ranking in Google.

Hope this clears up some issues regarding posting comments :) If you have anything to ask, just post it in the comments, alright?

ps: How long until your comments gets approved will depend on how often I check my e-mail every day.

New Home!

Saturday, August 13th, 2005

Alright guys, from today on, my blog will be here :) I’m going to transfer the old blog content over here slowly, bit by bit, as I don’t have all the time in the world :p (drawback when you don’t have access to cPanel *sigh* - but I’m trying not to get a paid host, at least not yet, so I guess I don’t have much of a choice.)
